Challenge : Having a limited shipping options and single shipping API is a bottleneck when it is down or when the customers look for more options.
Strategy : Building a system with flexibility of using multiple shipping options.
Approach : Integrating shipping APIs (USPS, UPS, Amazon Merchant Fulfillment, FedEx, DHL) and giving different options (Ground, Two-Day, Overnight, International, Global Saver, Store Pickup, etc) to the customer. Also, an option to turn on and off these options, as needed, to address all the challenges we have with shipping APIs.
Result : With multiple shipping options and an automated process, it is very easy for the the store owner to ship their orders on time with less efforts. Its a great add-on that improves the customer experience which in turn contributes for more orders / business.
