Challenge : Having a single payment gateway is a bottleneck when it is down or when the customers look for other payment option.

Strategy : Building a system with flexibility of using multiple payment options.

Approach : Integrating payment gateways of different types – Creditcard (Full Payments, EMIs / Part Payments, Recurring Payments), eCheck, PayPal, Offline Payments, etc. Also, an option to turn on and off these payment options, as needed, to address all the challenges we have with payment gateways.

Result : Order volume drastically increased with introduction of variety of payment options to the customers.

The Process**

DB Setup

Setup DB tables to manage all payment methods, gateway options and their API credentials.

API Setup

Setup accounts with payment gateway providers and get API credentials.

API integration

Prepare API integration code and make sure all payment methods are working with sandbox accounts.

Sandbox Testing

Prepare API integration code and make sure all payment methods are working with sandbox accounts.

Checkout

Integrate the same on checkout pages and test with production accounts to make sure everything works as expected.

Admin Settings

Setup an admin area to manage the payment options, payemtn gateways, API credentials, etc. When there is any problem with a particular payment gateway, we turn it off temporarily by a simple switch in the admin.
