CONTENT MANAGEMENT
The need for content management systems has intensified in the last few years as the expense of maintaining large web sites has hit home. Content management systems hand the control of a site back to the owners, saving many thousands of dollars in ongoing maintenance and update costs.
ITLandmark can develop a scaleable content management solution which puts the power of the Internet in your hands. By designing a system that is easy to use and update, with an e-commerce solution built in, we will simplify the choice.
How we achieve this is outlined below...
What is a CMS?
A Content Management System (CMS) separates the management of content from design. The page designs are stored in template files, while the actual content is stored in a database. When a site visitor visits one of the web pages in the site, the parts are combined to produce a standard HTML page.
Content management systems offer enormous advantages over traditionally designed sites, both for website administrators and for web site designers. The greatest benefit is the ability to use templates and common design elements to ensure consistent design throughout the site.
Those responsible for producing the site's content (the basic information documents, photos, pdf files or other information) incorporate the templates into their documents by adding a small amount of formatting code.
The author can then concentrate on content over design. To change the appearance or style of the web site, the web developer only needs to modify the templates and not each individual page.
Why CMS? And Who Is It For?
CMS will be designed in such a way that you, as a web site owner, don't need any specialised web development knowledge or expertise in html, graphic design, IT infrastructure, networking, databases, e-commerce, or any of the other areas of web development expertise to maintain and update your web site.
CMS will be designed to allow you to update the content in your web site with virtually no web skills or experience.
Our system allows you to update and replace the pages in your website in a simple three step procedure.
If you neeed to be able to do any (or all) of the following, we can do a CMS solution for you...
